My passion for justice and being the voice for freedom that has been taken away from others pushes me to make Refuge Chocolate continue to be a successful business and have even greater impact on those it supports.
I have always been a person who stands up for the under dog and yet also understands the feelings of being that under dog as it has been me too.
These people could very easily be my mum, sister, friend or indeed even me. We can all be vulnerable in our lives and in a moment be taken advantage of.
Having and continuing to volunteer with the anti modern slavery charity Flourish NI I have seen first hand the lives that slavery has effected, heard the heart breaking stories and been part of practically helping people regain a hope for a better future out of the trauma.
I have an inbuilt yearning for this cause and for the solution. Problem solving is one of my strengths and I obsess over ways to make Refuge Chocolate bigger and better to help more people.
With all that is within me I believe; 'we who beleive in freedom cannot rest until it comes' (Ella Baker)
